MUGWORT: AN HERB WITH A DREAMY HISTORY
Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris), sometimes known as wild wormwood or “dream weed,” is an aromatic herb with a long history in traditional herbal practices and folklore. It has been associated for centuries with rest, dreaming, meditation, and creativity.
Our mugwort is gathered from the meadows of Turkeywoods Farm in southeastern Connecticut and used to prepare the herbal infusion for this handcrafted soap. Mugwort itself has a mild, distinctive herbal character, which we pair with patchouli and lavender essential oils. Patchouli contributes a warm, earthy depth, while lavender adds a softer aromatic note.
Lavender and patchouli have long been valued in aromatherapy for their calming, grounding fragrances and are often associated with relaxation, reflection, and emotional comfort. Combined with the herbal character of mugwort, they make this soap particularly well suited to an evening bath or shower—a simple way to slow down and enjoy a quiet end-of-day routine.

Herbal traditions and folklore have long associated it with vivid or memorable dreaming and with the creative inspiration that sometimes comes from dreams. We make no promises about what you'll dream—but keeping a notebook beside the bed couldn't hurt.
Our soap is handcrafted using olive, coconut, palm, castor, and sweet almond oils. Olive oil contributes a gentle, conditioning quality; coconut oil provides cleansing and abundant lather; palm oil produces a firm, long-lasting bar; castor oil contributes to a rich, satisfying lather; and sweet almond oil adds another conditioning component to the bar.
